My Macro security setting is low because I write macros into practically every workbook.Ī 10k file loaded quickly. I spend the vast majority of my time using spreadsheets and this time is quite unusual and definitely not what I experienced up to about 1-2 weeks ago. I have AVG antivirus/firewall installed (for more than 2 years) and disabling the firewall does not change the loading time. None of the macros have autoload functionality enabled (I wrote them all). The difference in time is dramatic: a 1.2 MB file without macros takes about 1 second to copy to the local machine and about 1 second to load from the local machine but more than 40 seconds to load from the network. This other machine has a slower processor than mine and the same network hardware.
The same spreadsheets can be opened on another machine from the same place on the network and will open in a reasonable period of time. The same spreadsheets can be copied locally and will open in a reasonable period of time.
These same spreadsheets loaded in a reasonable time before about 2 weeks ago. I am having similar difficulties to the problems described above with the following clarifications:
